October 1, 2012Why eat Raw?
You are what you eat. The nutrients in food are absorbed and become your cells, blood, tissue and organs. Now you wouldn’t build a house that you want to last with the cheap and less sturdy material? The same applies to our bodies. Happiness and what we eat are closely related.
Unfortunately we’ve been convinced and led to believe that cooked food, meat and dairy products are good for us, that we need these in our diet. I was taught this in school, and teachers are still teaching this to kids today! We are emotionally attached and addicted to our food.
Most of the nutrients, vitamins and enzymes that your body needs are destroyed when you cook it. Dairy and meat products have been closely linked to diabetes and cancer. Our cows and chickens are fed all kinds of hormone filled food to make them grow quicker, lay eggs, or produce milk, so that the owners of the corporation can make more profit in a shorter amount of time. Not to mention what these animals have to go through!
Benefits of eating raw
The proof is in the raw pudding. Eat raw for a week and see the difference for yourself. Or, start integrating more raw foods into your diet slowly. Perhaps have a green smoothie with your breakfast or instead of having juices from the store, juice fresh fruit and veg. Replace your sugar with agave or raw honey. Here are a few of the benefits:
– feeling lightness and clarity
– stable emotions
– feelings of calmness and connected
– quality of hair, skin and nails improve
– healing of chronic illnesses
– weight-loss
The list goes on and on…
