We love our juices and smoothies!! We love them so much we decided to build a juice bar and call it Liquid Earth!
We are convinced that smoothies and juices are the key to optimum health and vibrant living. Sensitive and valuable micronutrients are destroyed when heated. Cooking and processing food destroys the micronutrients by altering their shape and chemical composition. Our bodies struggle to digest our food and most of our energy is spent trying to absorb the little nutrients that are left. No wonder so many people are tired, fatigued and stressed!
Here’s why we love our juices and smoothies:
- get more vegetables and fruit in your diet – Most of us don’t like to eat vegetables, or fruit. Juicing and blending is an easy way to get in the daily required vegetables and fruit in a delicious form. Most health authorities recommend that we get at least 6 – 8 vegetables and fruits a day. For most people this is a difficult target to reach. When you juice and blend fruit you will reach this target easily.
- absorb all the nutrition – Juicing vegetables is like ‘pre-digesting’ your food.
- add wider variety of food to your diet – Some vegetables will taste delicious as a juice, and may not taste that delicious eating whole.
- quick and easy – Its easier and more delicious to grab a juice or smoothie on the go, than eat a whole bowl of vegetables
- smoothies have loads of fiber and gives us energy – as well as heal our body, provides the necessary building blocks to repair muscle, increase immune system, makes our skin glow, the list goes on and on!
General tips:
- Blend fruit and juice vegetables
- Was all fruit and vegetables in water with a dash of vinegar – this gets those nasty pesticides off the produce; unless you can get hold of organic, use organic instead!
- Juices and smoothies are not meal replacements, unless you are on a specific detoxification program.
- Be careful of too much too soon. Give your digestive system a chance to adapt and listen to your body.
