The lotus flower has its roots in the soil of the pond, it blooms face toward heaven, it moves with the water yet doesn’t lose its rooting. It’s grounded yet spiritual and possesses a calm, quiet peace and beauty. The perfect symbol of the Yoga practice and the Lotus position.
Please join Casey for an advanced workshop focusing on hips (Lotus position) arm balances and inversions incorporating hips.
Benefits of hip-openers:
To ease back pain, improve range of motion, extension of the knees, facilitate circulation, and a more agile gait. There’s a more subtle benefit too, we hold stress and negative emotions such as fear, guilt, and sadness in our pelvis. It is therefore important to do poses that move prana through that area. Hip-opening can also create space for the birth of new ideas and new pathways. Opening the hips gives access to freedom in the body and find your own unique expression.
The sequence is designed to move your ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion and incorporating it into advanced inversions and arm balances.
Preferably you already have a regular yoga practice when you join the workshop.
Yoga teachers who are interested in deepening into the hip practice and class to incorporate the ultimate Lotus position and its variations.
