“Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing modality that draws from the yogic and Ayurvedic practices of India and the Traditional Chinese Medicine practice of China.
It is a unique form of therapy and dynamic bodywork that incorporates Hatha yoga, reflexology, acupressure and chiropractic. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves flexibility, boosts the immune system, deepens relaxation and balances the body energetically.
This workshop will be a guided exploration of how to effectively incorporate bodywork and hands on assists into yoga classes in order to safely deepen postures, offer support and alternatives to inflexible students, read students bodies to spot misalignment’s and bring a deeply relaxing, nurturing element into classes. Combining both theory and practice will allow teachers the opportunity to get comfortable with physical touch and better understand how to apply it with metta– so as to confidently incorporate it into both group and private yoga classes in a valuable way.
Shen Mantra offers the only internationally accredited Thai Yoga Massage diploma courses in South Africa and has been teaching Thai, the Thai way, for over 10 years. This workshop will be led by Gabrielle Alberts, a yoga teacher, healing bodywork practitioner and holistic health coach. Gabrielle has a passion for living yoga and guides her students to the discovery and exploration of their own body wisdom – a breathing field of knowledge available in each moment.
