Soma refers to Somatic Movement Therapy. Somatic means embodied. To live within your skin, mindfully exploring your aliveness.
In a Soma Yoga class we use a low hanging hammock to enable us to root into the ground yet still give us the freedom to move, taking us into a deeper state of ease. Movements are soothing and includes rocking, taking us deeper into ourselves where we can heal. Students are encouraged to move intuitively, to deeply listen to the body and it’s intelligence. The body knows.
After a Soma Yoga class students feel elevated and deeply relaxed. Soma Yoga helps to downgrade our nervous system and restore our natural state of being. It is also a great way to lubricate fascia and help us heal injuries. The movement is the medicine.
This 30 hour short course is aimed at Yoga Teachers. Add to your skills and help your students heal. It’s also for people that are passionate about healing their own trauma and that have an interest in Somatic Movement Therapy.
