Yoga means union, union of the mind with the body and spirit. But what does this mean? We are simply moving beyond the separation that the mind creates and return back to our natural state of being. The postures in itself is not yoga, it is the state of mind they create that is referred to as Yoga.
There are many different types of yoga, and it can be quite confusing. The bottom line is, all yoga has the same message. At Earth Yoga Studio we offer Kids yoga, Pregnancy (Pre-natal) yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga. Read more…

It all starts with one single decision, ‘I’m going to start yoga’. We jump onto the internet and find a studio, we buy a mat and book our first class. Most of us have a small idea as to what to expect as well as some big fears of the unknown. Will I be the only newbie on the mat? Are the other people going to laugh at me? I wonder what the teacher will be like. What if I look like an idiot with my bum in the air? What if I can’t do the poses? I can barely touch my toes! Sound familiar? Well if this does sound like thoughts you have whirling in your head, don’t be alarmed… you are most certainly not alone.

It’s frightening how big pharmaceuticals convinced us that we need a pill for every ill, when the truth is we have everything inside ourselves to heal ourselves.
Yoga, when practiced correctly, have many benefits. The one benefit that I especially enjoy, is yoga’s healing abilities. Science only recently started to confirm what ancient yogi’s have been saying for thousands of years.
